Mattel is launching Angry Birds Board Game Knock on Wood, a board game based on the massively popular Angry Birds video game. It could be referred to as a physical representation of the popular mobile game, It’s an exciting skill and action game basically based on the bestselling phone app and features three Angry Birds, green pigs, a slingshot-style launcher, structure pieces and mission cards. The company wouldn't say how much it invested in the Angry Birds board game, but analysts say it can't be much. The official Angry Birds board game Knock on Wood is not really for adults, but you’ll probably end up having lots of fun with it just like the fun and thrills you experience when you play it digitally. HOW TO PLAY? BUILD. LAUNCH. DESTROY. That would simply be the mechanics of this Angry Birds board game. Angry Birds: Knock On Wood will have players build and then destroy towers filled with evil pigs, just like in the video game. The game comes with a set of 14 Jenga-ish bricks, small plastic versions of the Angry Birds characters--birds and pigs--as well as a slingshot and blocks for creating the pigs' fortresses. The pesky pigs can drive anyone nuts with their smirks when you fail a level .You get to play with a slingshot launcher and take aim with three different angry birds: the basic red bird, yellow bird, and black bomb bird-- none of the tiny blue birds, the egg laying monster or the boomerang toucans. As for the catapult, it's not actually an elastic band on a     slingshot: the whole  catapult  ismade of plastic, and pulls back at the base to send the irate bird flying. It's a much sturdier solution, especially if you're going to let the kids have a chance to play with it.

The game is for two players and features a little more strategy than simply throwing birds making it more a lot challenging. One player picks one of the 56 "mission cards," then the other player builds the structure shown on the card, which the first player has several turns to knock down using the birds shown on the card. The first player to score 1,000 points wins.
